ANOTHER 50 JUMBO MUFFINS DELIVERED TO A GREAT CAUSE ON BEHALF OF OUR CLIENTS WHO PAID IT FORWARD.
A huge thank you to our customers! Today we delivered on our pay it forward campaign thanks to you! We delivered a total of 55 muffins today to two orphanages; Al Noor in Woodstock and Saint Georges House in Wynberg. They were absolutely thrilled and grateful to receive these muffins and we saw many happy faces! For January 2017 we already have 47 muffins waiting to get baked and delivered to charities/children homes which have been donated thanks to you!
With great delight, we are happy to report another two successful months in our “Pay it Forward” campaign. In June, we donated 80 bran muffins to Ubuntu House which they in turn sold to raise funds for their admirable initiative. Ubuntu House cares for abandoned babies and to date, have saved the lives of 566 newborns. Have a look at their website or the thank you letter we received and found out how you can get involved, www.ubuntuhouse.co.za.
In July, our focus was a “Pay it Forward” campaign targeted at treating the elderly in conjunction with Mandela Day. The residents of Neighbourhood Old Ag Homes (N. O.A.H) in woodstock, were treated on Mandela Day with 28 jumbo bran muffins as well as other delicious goodies. They were then taken by Nomad Tours on a city tour, with a beach stop and a suprise lunch, with some our goodies. We’re happy to report that the muffins were devoured in less than 67 seconds! Have a look at the pictures we have posted and the joy we spread by paying it forward.
Letter of Thanks from SANZAF-Dolce
Last month (May 2016), as a part of our Pay it Forward Initiative, we donated 70 muffins to SANZAF (http://www.sanzaf.org.za/). SANZAF is a Muslim organisation which raises funds within the Muslim community to give back in the form of educational bursaries and many other sustainable actions. They recently held a small fair which we were privileged enough to donate muffins courtesy of our generous and kind-hearted clients, who wanted to do their part in our Pay it Forward Initiative.
Biggest Rhino Cake In The World
They say it’s impossible, until it’s done. This past weekend, at the Good Food & Wine Show Cape Town, Africa’s largest culinary event from the 27th to the 29th of April, a mighty and worthy task was underway. The goal? To create the largest rhino cake in the world, a delicious life-size replica! Yours truly, Dolce Bakery had the honour of being part of this collaboration, with Dorothy Klerk from Eat.Pray.Cake and her phenomenal team. We baked approx 450kg of cake with the rhino cause firmly in our minds and hearts and whipped up 100kg of cream cheese for the icing. Dorothy and her team then took over to carve of one of the most valued and endangered of the Big 5. The final masterpiece was on show and then donated to the Food Bank. The funds were donated to raising awareness for the plight of the rhino. To say we are proud, would be an understatement, see you next year.
We have started our Pay It Forward initiative! This will be an easy way to help people less fortunate than ourselves. Social responsibility has never been so yummy!!!
We will load pics every time we deliver muffins on behalf of the purchases that our clients made.
