“As a kid Russell Soffer’s best friend was Pac-Man. He loved games and sweet foods, growing up in his Dad’s restaurant his love for baking grew.
Dolce Bakery was introduced in 2011, passionate about serving the hospitality industry with only the most delicious baked confectionery and pastries. Dolce is sweet in Italian, an apt name for only the highest quality pastries at even better prices. Halaal certified, Dolce Bakery takes pride in its dedication to service excellence.
From humble beginnings in a small 60m unit in Woodstock, the staff compliment consisted of father and son duo, Moshe and Russell and three motivated bakers. Gaining in popularity, expansion was inevitable. Moving to bigger premises in a quaint semi industrial business park, Observatory in Cape Town provided a better location for a larger production.
We opened our shop in Observatory approximately 2 years ago… The smells off cookies and coffee permeate through the bakery to add to the relaxed atmosphere where you can catch up on various newspapers, there’s also free-wifi and a lovely shaded area outside adorned with plants and an art mural.
Our bagels are traditional boiled bagels, boiled and baked to perfection and lined up in shiny layered rows. In the glass, cold case, sugar sparkles on the layered cakes, the cupcakes gleam in their glitter sparkles. Warm fresh pizza are our regular customers favorite lunch time meal.
Our Lindt chocolate brownies are legendary and have touched the lives of many. You’ll find them been served in some of Cape Town’s most trendy and sophisticated coffee shops and restaurants. Such as Willoughby’s and Co, Mama Afrika, Royal Eatery, Jerry’s Burger Bar, Cape Point reserve, Yours Truly and many more.
Dolce Bakery is well loved in Cape Town with some 80 clients whom we supply, ranging from hospitals, to petrol stations and even other bakeries.
Vegan? We got you! There are yummy and fulfilling vegan options such as pizza made with cashew nut cheese, crunchies, apple crumble, bagels and chocolate cake. Other options available to order.
We are obsessed with cheesecakes, with 10 different varieties to choose from, such as; passion fruit, caramel, brownie, chocolate, choc chip cookie… there’s even a banting one! Yes! We have a deeelish gluten free, low carb, high fat (LCHF) cheesecake…
